In attendance from Kobe University were TAMAKI Hisashi, executive vice president and director of the Institute for Promoting International Partnerships; TOMINAGA Keisuke, director of the Molecular Photoscience Research Center; and MATOBA Osamu, director of the Center of Optical Scattering Image Science.

The forum, entitled “Accelerating Japan-India Talent Circulation in science and technology collaboration,” brought together university leaders from Japan and India for discussions on expanding academic cooperation and common issues. It was attended by 49 Japanese and 36 Indian institutions.

In individual meetings held during the forum, the representatives of Kobe University met with those from three Indian institutions and exchanged opinions on future cooperation and the conclusion of academic cooperation agreements.

On November 16, Professor Tominaga participated in the 3rd Japan Academic Day, which was held at the IIT Hyderabad.
During the booth session, he introduced the university to local students considering studying in Japan. Many students visited the Kobe University booth, and Professor Tominaga answered questions from prospective students and provided information on academic programs, scholarships and daily life in Kobe.

Through this forum, we hope to develop academic cooperation between Kobe University and universities in India.
