On November 1, His Excellency Dr. Ghazi Faisal S BINZAGR, ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia called on President FUJISAWA Masato of Kobe University.
The following people attended the meeting: Abdullah HAMIDADDIN, assistant secretary-general for Scientific Affairs at the King Faisal Center for Research and Islamic Studies (KFCRIS) and Melih Anas MOHAMMED, the director of the Muslim World League Japan Office, as well as UMEYA Kiyoshi, the dean of the Graduate School of Intercultural Studies, and NAKAMURA Satoru, professor at the Graduate School of Intercultural Studies, from Kobe University.
Fujisawa welcomed the visitors and gave them an overview of Kobe University. Binzagr expressed his desire to discuss various opportunities for cooperation with Japan, an important economic partner of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and Hamiduddin mentioned that he would like to explore the possibility of academic cooperation in the fields of social sciences and the humanities, and to consider academic events on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries next year.
It is hoped that this visit will promote academic cooperation relations between the two countries.
